Description

1787 1/2 C Massachusetts Half Cent XF40 PCGS. Breen-964. Described by Breen as "very rare," this variety is identifiable by thin reverse letters and a footless 1 in the date. This is a richly toned, glossy-brown representative with even overall wear. There is a die break (as struck) on the obverse outside the E in WEALTH, a series of small planchet flaws are seen in the center of the same side. Listed on page 39 of the 2001 Guide Book.
