    Description

    Lovely 1787 Massachusetts Half Cent
    Ryder 4-C, MS63

1787 1/2 C Massachusetts Half Cent MS63 Brown PCGS. Ryder 4-C, R.2. The stop after the S is inconspicuous, as it is placed next to an arrowhead. The M in MASSACHUSETTS is recut, while the arrow feather touches the lower left foot of the E in WEALTH. A 2% curved clip is centered at 5 o'clock relative to the obverse. This lovely State Copper has mint-made planchet striations on the Indian's midsection and in the upper right reverse field, but the surfaces are free from abrasions. Listed on page 57 of the 2009 Guide Book.
From The San Jose Collection of Colonial Coinage.
