Description

1787 1/2P Machin's Mills Halfpenny VF35 PCGS. Vlack 19-87C, W-7940, R.2. Tan-brown and brown-gray toning embraces this nicely detailed contemporary counterfeit King George halfpenny. The obverse has wispy thin marks near the neck and profile, and the reverse displays minor verdigris in recessed areas. The reverse die was later used to create the Ryder-13 Vermont Britannia variety. Listed on page 67 of the 2013 Guide Book.
