    Pleasing MS63 Fugio Cent

1787 1C Fugio Cent, STATES UNITED, Cinquefoils MS63 Brown PCGS. Newman 13-X, R.1. A pleasing example with glossy, chocolate-brown surfaces that are predominantly smooth, with very slight microgranularity under close magnification. There are several insignificant planchet marks in the upper left obverse fields, and some striking softness in the lower reverse. Later die states, with evidence of die clashing from the reverse chains on the obverse as well as a couple of die cracks on the reverse, most notably a horizontal crack through the chain at 12:00 and an almost vertical one extruding from the center to rim at 6:00. An attractive, high grade specimen with great eye appeal, and an excellent representative specimen of this very popular type. Listed on page 63 of the 2002 Guide Book.
