Exceptional 1787 Fugio Cent, STATES UNITED, Cinquefoils
    MS64 Brown, Newman 13-X
From the John L. Roper, 2nd Collection

1787 1C Fugio Cent, STATES UNITED, Cinquefoils MS64 Brown PCGS. Newman 13-X, R.1. The vertical die crack at 6 o'clock on the reverse, and the clash marks from the chain links along the obverse margin, help to confirm this popular Bank of New York hoard variety. This near-Gem displays a semi-gloss obverse with chocolate-brown color, and a tan-gold reverse. The design elements are well struck and nicely centered on the planchet. This is an exceptional Mint State Fugio that is difficult to locate this nice.
Ex: John L. Roper, 2nd Collection of Colonial & Early American Coins (Stack's, 12/1983), lot 418.
