    1787 1C Fugio Cent, UNITED STATES, No Cinquefoils VF30 PCGS. CAC. N. 1-B, W-6600, R.4. The Cross after Date, No Cinquefoils was a Fugio prototype obverse die. It was paired with a pattern die (the very rare N. 1-CC), another prototype reverse (N. 1-Z), and one generic reverse each of the STATES UNITED (N. 1-L) and UNITED STATES (N. 1-B) subtypes. This example of the latter variety has pleasing walnut-brown surfaces. We note a thin mark on the E in ONE and a couple of faint lines on the sun. Listed on page 87 of the 2014 Guide Book. Population: 11 in 30, 18 finer (8/13).
