1787 Connecticut Copper, MS62 Brown
ETLIR, Miller 30-hh.1
Ex: John J. Ford, Jr.

1787 Connecticut Copper, ETLIR, MS62 Brown NGC. M. 30-hh.1, W-3175, R.2. Ex: Ford Collection. 136.3 grains, per Ford catalog description. This chocolate-brown representative shimmers with luster, and the devices exhibit bold detail. The planchet is problem-free, and the reverse appears unabraded. Good centering with nearly complete legends, the sole exception is the base of the date, which is partly off the flan. A loupe locates minor faded marks on the neck and in the upper-left obverse field. Listed on page 74 of the 2019 Guide Book. Census: 4 in 62 Brown, 2 finer (5/18).
Ex: Thomas Elder, 10/1915, lot 373; John J. Ford, Jr., Part IX (Stack's, 5/2005), lot 334; Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 5/2008), lot 1941, which realized $6,325.
