Description
1787 Connecticut Copper, MS62 Brown
Miller 4-L, 'Horned Bust' Variety
1787 Connecticut Copper, Horned Bust, MS62 Brown PCGS. M. 4-L,
W-2810, R.1. The "Horned Bust" variety is common in VF but rare
in Mint State. This is a mid-to-late die state with a banana-shaped
die break or "horn" attached to the mailed bust. Shimmering luster
emerges from the smooth medium brown surfaces, which exhibit
ice-blue tints when rotated beneath a light. The reverse is
slightly misaligned toward 4 o'clock, but the date is virtually
complete. Listed on page 73 of the 2019 Guide Book.
Population: 2 in 62 Brown, 0 finer (5/18).Ex: Milwaukee ANA Signature (Heritage, 8/2007), lot 21, which realized $3,737.50.
