Description

1787 COPPER Connecticut Copper, ETLIR AU53 PCGS. M. 33.43-hh.2, High R.5. A partly lustrous medium brown example of this much better Miller variety. The usual ETLIR dies are 30-hh.1 or 31.1-gg.1. Due to slight die misalignment, the strike shows some softness near the obverse nose and opposite behind the head on the reverse. Otherwise well struck, and the lightly circulated surfaces are pleasantly free from marks or verdigris. Listed on page 60 of the 2010 Guide Book.
