    Description

1787 COPPER Connecticut Copper, Mailed Bust Left XF40 NGC. M. 9-D, W-2850, High R.5. Mint gloss emerges from the legends and motifs of this deep walnut-brown state copper. A couple of hair-thin marks are concealed within the hair of the obverse portrait. The obverse is moderately misaligned toward 10 o'clock, though most of AUCTORI is present. The reverse is well-centered. The obverse die is failing beneath the chin, and the base of the portrait is partly lapped away. Listed on page 62 of the 2014 Guide Book.
