    1788 1C Massachusetts Cent, Period--Improperly Cleaned--NGC Details. AU. Ryder 4-G, W-6230, High R.4. The scarce W-6230 variety is identified by the position of the obverse star, with one ray pointing at the Indian's nose, and the arrowheads on the reverse with just one arrow pointing outside the eagle's wing. This example displays sharp devices, with little actual wear, and a few planchet cracks on the upper obverse. Listed on page 57 of the 2011 Guide Book. MRB XF40.
