    Description

Choice 1791 Washington Small Eagle Cent

1791 1C Washington Small Eagle Cent MS64 Brown PCGS. Baker-16, R.3. Medium to dark steel-brown surfaces are mildly reflective as a result of numerous die polishing lines in the fields. Scattered flecks of carbon rule out a Gem designation. Designed by Englishman John Gregory Hancock, the 1791 Washington Cents were apparently struck as trial pieces to obtain a Federal coinage contract. Listed on page 77 of the 2007 Guide Book.
