    Description

    1791 Washington Cent, MS64 Brown
    Small Eagle, Baker-16

1791 CENT Washington Small Eagle Cent MS64 Brown PCGS. Baker-16, W-10630, Musante GW-17, R.3. The Small Eagle cents are moderately scarcer than their Baker-15 Large Eagle counterparts. Both varieties were struck at the private Westwood Mint in Birmingham, England, perhaps in the hope of obtaining a coinage contract with the United States. Most examples are circulated. This is a splendid Choice cent with rich magenta, golden-brown, and apple-green toning. The strike is consistent, and there are no detractions. Population: 26 in 64 (1 in 64+) Brown, 15 finer (5/21).
