    Description

    1792 Washington Cent, MS62 Brown
    Baker-60, Washington Born Virginia

1792 1C Washington Born Virginia Cent, Inscribed Reverse MS62 Brown NGC. Baker-60, W-10730, R.6. Although John Gregory Hancock's 1791 Small Eagle and Large Eagle cents are relatively common, his "Born Virginia" Washington pieces were apparently coined in much smaller quantities. When encountered, survivors tend to be circulated and exhibit weakness on the central reverse legends. This MS62 example is far superior to the other two examples listed in the NGC Census Report, both of which are VF (11/11). It boasts a sharp, even strike and consistent dark walnut-brown toning. A tiny obverse rim nick at 3 o'clock and a faded mark in front of the nose are consistent with the grade. Listed on page 78 of the 2012 Guide Book. (NGC ID# 2B79, PCGS# 723)

The way you grouped lots, photographed, and presented the material was too notch. I was impressed that you took the time to attribute coins to the Krause reference as their "plate coin" and that many of your descriptions included pertinent facts and infor
