NEW YORK, MS65 Red and Brown
1794 CENT Talbot, Allum, & Lee Cent, NEW YORK MS65 Red and Brown
PCGS. Fuld-4, W-8590, R.1. The ampersand on the reverse is
small, and the pole on the middle mast points to the upright of the
second L of ALLUM on this collectible example. Each side exhibits
needle-sharp detail and unabraded, reddish-brown surfaces. Original
fire-orange color glows from within the recessed areas of the
design. William Talbot, William Allum, and James Lee imported these
Conder tokens from Birmingham in 1794 and 1795 to advertise their
New York-based firm engaged in the India trade. Listed on page 78
of the 2017 Guide Book. Population: 1 in 65 Red and Brown, 0
