    Description

    1795 1/2P Washington Grate Halfpenny, Large Buttons, Reeded Edge AU58 PCGS. Baker-29AA, R.1. A sharply struck medium brown piece that reveals lilac, gold, and aqua colors when rotated beneath a light. The right field on each side has a couple of faded pinscratches. The Washington Grate token is actually a British Conder token, but American collectors long ago adopted it as a piece of Washingtonia. The dies were engraved by Thomas Wyon. Listed on page 67 of the 2005 Guide Book.(#746)
