Highly Collectible Mid-Grade 1796 Castorland Medal
1796 MEDAL Castorland Medal, Silver VF35 PCGS. This medal appears to be an early restrike. The centers are slightly thicker than the peripheries, and there is just the faintest trace of die rust close to the sap pot's handle. The edge is reeded and there does not appear to be any restrike marking on the edge--although, admittedly, it is difficult to examine the edge through the PCGS holder. Well defined with light gray toning over each side, there are no mentionable abrasions. Listed on page 63 of the 2005 Guide Book.(#653)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2B69, PCGS# 653, Greysheet# 306)
