1820 TOKEN North West Company, Brass -- Holed -- Fine 12 PCGS. Breen-1083, W-9250. Holed at 12 o'clock, as are all but two known. The 1820 North West tokens, which come in brass or copper varieties, were the only tokens proven to circulate in the Oregon area before it was acquired by the United States from Canada. A small hoard found in the Umpqua River Valley comprises most survivors. A granular dark brown example with brassy green-gold high points. Listed on page 78 of the 2014 Guide Book.
