Uncommonly Well Preserved American Plantation Token, MS 60 PCGS

Undated (1688) American Plantation Token MS 60 PCGS. 1/24 Real. Breen-77. This issue represents the first coinage authorized for the British colonies in America. Since they were struck in tin, the coins did not fair well in circulation and most extant representatives show corrosion. Although dark and somewhat granular, this green-gray example displays sharp definition for the issue and no mentionable abrasions. A scarce and historically significant Colonial issue. Listed on page 20 of the current Guide Book.
