Double Struck, Miller 33.15-r.1

1787 Connecticut Copper, Draped Bust Left, M. 33.15-r.1, W-3605, R.2 -- Double Struck, 2nd Strike 35% Off Center -- XF45 PCGS. A spectacular double struck mint error. The first strike was normal, but the piece was struck a second time with the obverse (hammer) die shifted far northwest. The reverse (anvil) die remained stationary. The date is readable, and the dual portraits overlap. Chocolate-brown high points contrast with deep gray fields. Listed on page 32 of the 2026 Guide Book.
