    Description

1785 Connecticut Copper Fine 15 PCGS. Mailed Bust Right. Miller 5-F.5, R.4. A smooth and problem-free medium brown piece save for some tiny and relatively unobtrusive natural flan fissures on both sides. From an early state of the obverse die, with the break from the breastplate to the effigy's chin just beginning; this is Miller's obverse 5.2, which has now been grouped with 5.1 as obverse 5, as the previous two are now known to be simply different die states of the same obverse. There is a touch of central striking weakness present, as frequently seen in this die marriage, and PCGS has probably been a tad conservative in their grading of this piece as a result. It would be impossible to locate a nicer Miller 5-F.5 at this grade level.

The outcome of the auction far exceeded my best hopes and would not likely have been as successful with out your sound advice on where to present the coin and how best to set the reserve. Throughout the process your availability , support and knowledge were exceptional.
