Description
Premium Gem 1904 Lewis and Clark Gold Dollar
1904 G$1 Lewis and Clark MS66 PCGS. Although the 1904 version of this commemorative gold dollar is not a rarity, it is truly elusive in Premium Gem quality, and a condition rarity any finer. Or course, specialists in the series understand the importance of the similar issue dated 1905. This is a remarkable example with frosty yellow-gold luster on both sides. The surfaces are virtually perfect and the strike is essentially full. It appears that this piece is a late die state with considerable die wear or erosion visible in the fields. A few faint die cracks are also visible on the reverse. Population: 105 in 66, 14 finer (1/07).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# BYLF, PCGS# 7447, Greysheet# 10205)
Weight: 1.70 grams
