    Description

1904 Lewis and Clark Gold Dollar, MS66
    Conditionally Elusive

1904 G$1 Lewis and Clark MS66 PCGS. Although the 1904 version of this commemorative gold dollar is not a rarity, it is truly elusive in Premium Gem quality, and a condition rarity any finer. Of course, specialists in the series understand the importance of the similar issue dated 1905. This is a remarkable example with frosty yellow-gold luster on both sides. The surfaces are virtually perfect and the strike is essentially full. It appears that this piece is a late die state with considerable die wear or erosion visible in the fields. A few faint die cracks are also visible on the reverse.(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# BYLF, PCGS# 7447)

    Weight: 1.70 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper

The marketing was exceptional from the photos to the ads in Civil War Times and North South Trader for the cross over people!!! I have had many emails from my Civil War collecting fraternity that saw these and I saw them at the national show in Nashville/Franklin in early December.
