Description
1904 Lewis and Clark Dollar
Splendid Superb Gem
1904 G$1 Lewis and Clark MS67 PCGS. CAC. A simply astounding
survivor of this prized gold dollar issue, the first of two bearing
the dual-portrait Lewis and Clark design. While the 1904 has a
better overall survival rate than its 1905 counterpart, the 1904
remains a condition rarity at the MS67 level and is nearly
unobtainable any finer. This Superb Gem offers bright lemon-gold
luster that reflects upon the remarkable surface quality. The
strike is bold, with the fine details of the hair and clothing
readily appreciable, and the overall eye appeal is stunning.
Population: 18 in 67 (1 in 67+), 1 finer (7/14).Ex: Houston Signature (Heritage, 12/2009), lot 1333.
