1904 Lewis and Clark Gold Dollar
MS67 Condition Rarity

1904 G$1 Lewis and Clark MS67 PCGS. As popular as the two Lewis and Clark gold dollar issues are today, they were poor sellers in their own time; collectors who felt "burned" by the Louisiana Purchase Exposition gold dollars' rapid price plunge stayed away from the Lewis and Clark pieces, and even the relative few purchasers experienced short-term pain. This Superb Gem, by contrast, will be a great gain for the collector who wins it. Both portraits have marvelous hair detail with a hint of orange supplementing the sun-yellow base color. The preservation is marvelous, and a few apparent long flaws are in the plastic case, not on the coin itself. Population: 15 in 67, 1 finer (11/11).
