1904 Lewis and Clark Dollar, MS67
Only One Graded Finer at PCGS

1904 G$1 Lewis and Clark MS67 PCGS. The Lewis and Clark gold dollars of 1904 and 1905 were extremely unpopular after the hype and overpromotion associated with Farran Zerbe and the 1903 Louisiana Purchase-Jefferson and McKinley dollars. Each issue, 1904 and 1905, had a net distribution of only 10,000 pieces, give or take. Today the Superb Gem level is the finest practically obtainable for a 1904 Lewis and Clark, and they are pricey even there; PCGS has seen a single MS68 finer (4/13). Deep reddish-orange color complements vibrant mint luster over surfaces that are virtually pristine on this piece, a coin with excellent eye appeal and high aesthetic beauty.(Registry values: N7079)
