Description

1905 Lewis and Clark Gold Dollar, MS65
CAC-Approved Champagne-Gold Piece

1905 G$1 Lewis and Clark Gold Dollar MS65 NGC. CAC. Champagne-gold surfaces glisten with deep cartwheel luster. Only slight weakness impacts select finer hair details. This stunning eye-appeal earned this example a CAC sticker. This issue celebrated the 1905 Lewis and Clark Exposition, held in Portland, Oregon, though examples were dated 1904 as well. Interestingly, despite having essentially the same mintage, the 1905 issue is 20% rarer, and the exact reason is unknown.(Registry values: N4719)
