1915-S Panama-Pacific Quarter Eagle, MS64+
Stunning Near-Gem Survivor

1915-S $2 1/2 Panama-Pacific Quarter Eagle MS64+ NGC. Significant mint luster covers wheat-gold surfaces and fully-detailed devices. A thin scratch through the E in UNITED and a small nick below the obverse arm are all that prevent a Gem designation. This important commemorative series was entirely produced in San Francisco, the location of the Panama-Pacific Exposition it celebrated. Coin dealer and entrepreneur Farran Zerbe concocted a massive program spanning four denominations and five major types, including one of two Classic Commemorative quarter eagles.(Registry values: N2998)
