Description

Popular 1915-S Panama-Pacific Quarter Eagle, MS64

1915-S $2 1/2 Panama-Pacific Quarter Eagle MS64 PCGS. This is a popular commemorative which is more attractive than its rushed creation might have dictated, with a mythological obverse and derivative reverse by the competing Mint chief engraver and assistant engraver, Charles Barber and George T. Morgan, respectively. While the issue is popular in all grades, this near-Gem could form a capstone of a memorable assemblage of gold and silver commemoratives. The orange-gold surfaces have a hint of antique patina that adds to the originality, and there are no overt abrasions save for a couple on Columbia's exposed knee, the high point of the obverse.
