    1915-S Panama-Pacific Quarter Eagle
    Frosty Gem Example

1915-S $2 1/2 Panama-Pacific Quarter Eagle MS65 PCGS. The medical triumph over yellow fever was the theme of the Panama-Pacific quarter eagle, depicted by Columbia seated on a hippocampus, brandishing a caduceus. Charles E. Barber designed the obverse, while George T. Morgan is credited with the reverse eagle motif. About two-thirds of the 10,000-piece mintage was sold, for a net distribution of 6,749 pieces. This Gem example is lustrous and frosty, with an above-average strike on Columbia's head. Attractive yellow-gold surfaces show the usual die polish lines but no significant marks or abrasions.(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# BYLP, PCGS# 7450)
