Description

1915-S Panama-Pacific Quarter Eagle
Scarce This Lustrous; MS66

1915-S $2 1/2 Panama-Pacific Quarter Eagle MS66 NGC. CAC. Rich yellow-gold surfaces are replete with a generous helping of mint luster, contrary to the grainy appearance frequently found on this issue. This feature's combination with with a dearth of abrasions and well-defined details caught the attention of CAC, leading to a "green bean." This issue is one of two commemorative quarter eagles, and was made for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition in San Francisco.(Registry values: N4719)
