    1915-S Quarter Eagle, MS66
    Panama-Pacific Commemorative Issue

1915-S $2 1/2 Panama-Pacific Quarter Eagle MS66 PCGS. The series of coins that Farran Zerbe suggested went far beyond any other commemorative issue, having a total face value of $104 for the five different coins that included the half dollar, gold dollar, quarter eagle, round $50, and octagonal $50. Collectors had the option of buying individual coins or sets in leather cases or in copper frames that included examples of each coin, all offered at twice face value. For those who wanted the best, a small number of double sets were issues to show the obverse and reverse of each coin. Those sets included 10 coins, and were offered at a little over $400. This impressive Premium Gem had frosty yellow-gold surfaces and trivial grade-consistent marks. (NGC ID# BYLP, PCGS# 7450)
