    Description

    Scarce 1915-S Panama-Pacific
    Two and a Half, MS67

1915-S $2 1/2 Panama-Pacific Quarter Eagle MS67 NGC. Despite a net mintage of just 6,749 pieces, there are enough coins in a variety of grades that collectors can find examples they want for a price. The only exceptions are in MS67 and better grades; the former is scarce, and according to the combined NGC and PCGS populations, the latter are nonexistent (11/11). Butter-yellow outer color lightens toward the centers on this softly frosted, amply lustrous Superb Gem. A faint orange cast picks up at certain angles to the light. Softly struck as almost always on Columbia's head, but the surface quality is rewarding.
    From The Jim O'Neal Gold Type Collection.(Registry values: N4719) (NGC ID# BYLP, PCGS# 7450)
