    Description

    1916 McKinley Gold Dollar, MS67+
    Sumptuous Luster and Preservation

1916 G$1 McKinley Gold Dollar MS67+ PCGS. CAC. There are nine different U.S. commemorative gold dollar issues (counting dates and varieties) beginning with the two Louisiana Purchase coins of 1903 and ending with the 1922 Grant With Star and No Star dollars. Although the 1916 McKinley gold dollar is generally the most available of those commemorative gold dollar issues, this is a remarkable example that simply blows away most others in terms of preservation and eye appeal. This coin is one of two in the top MS67+ grade at PCGS, although that service reports 92 others in MS67 (3/16). Sumptuous luster on deep orange-red surfaces complements top-notch preservation and a strike that is essentially full throughout both sides.
