Description

1917 McKinley Gold Dollar, MS67+
Copious Luster and Top-Notch Surfaces

1917 G$1 McKinley Gold Dollar MS67+ PCGS. CAC. Grade-for-grade the 1917 McKinley gold dollars are more elusive than their 1916 counterparts; Bowers estimates that 15,000 were distributed of the 1916 compared to 5,000 of the 1917, net after unsold pieces were melted. As always in this marvelous commemorative consignment, the present MS67+ piece is at the top end of certified survivors, showing copious luster over immaculately preserved and sharply struck amber-gold surfaces. Population: 71 in 67 (3 in 67+), 0 finer. CAC: 14 in 67, 0 finer (2/16).
