    Premium Gem 1917 McKinley Gold Dollar

    1917 G$1 McKinley MS66 PCGS. President William McKinley was born in Niles, Ohio, and proceeds from this issue were intended to help pay for the cost of a memorial building in that city. The cornerstone for the building was placed on November 20, 1915 and the building was completed on October 5, 1917. See www.mckinley.lib.oh.us/ for photos and more details. This example, in an older green-label holder, is a lovely Gem with frosty yellow-gold luster and excellent eye appeal. Pristine surfaces have just a hint of pink toning.(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# BYLL, PCGS# 7455)
