The strike is sharp on Grant's cheekbone and hair, as well as on the well-detailed leaves on the tree below U in TRUST. There are no distracting abrasions or marks to be seen. Designed by Laura Gardin Fraser, the motifs presented on this tiny gold coin represent one of the most endearing themes among all the classic commemorative issues. Only 5,016 pieces were struck for the With Star variant. PCGS has certified a double handful of top-tier coins, but none finer than this spectacular Superb Gem.
