Gem 1926 Sesquicentennial Two and a Half
1926 $2 1/2 Sesquicentennial MS65 NGC. It is difficult to believe that the quarter-millennium mark of American independence is only 18 years away, in the year 2026. And yet so it is. Perhaps the 1926 Sesquicentennial quarter eagle will be more popular at that time than it was when issued. Of the authorized maximum mintage of 200,000 coins--and despite the patriotic portrayal of Independence Hall and a modern, stylized Liberty--more than 150,000 examples of the production were melted. This piece offers radiant luster emanating from orange-gold surfaces, with lots of eye appeal.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# BYLT, PCGS# 7466, GSID# 10213)
