Description

1915-S Pan-Pac Quarter Eagle, MS67+
Condition Census PCGS Registry Coin
Among the Finest With CAC Endorsement

1915-S $2 1/2 Panama-Pacific Quarter Eagle MS67+ PCGS. CAC. The finest Panama-Pacific quarter eagles known are a pair of MS68 NGC coins, one of which we have the privilege of offering in this sale. However, for PCGS Registry Set collectors, we also have the honor of offering the present coin -- one of just three MS67+ pieces at that service, which rank as the finest Pan-Pac quarter eagles available in a PCGS holder. This piece is also CAC endorsed, a distinction that calls attention to the exceptional surface quality, and one that sets it apart from most of the Superb Gems certified. No finer specimen carries CAC approval. Luster is especially frosty and luminous, yielding wheat-gold color and a bold strike. Close study of the surfaces finds them seemingly devoid of all signs of contact. We are privileged to be able to offer two Condition Census examples of this popular classic commemorative gold issue in this sale, one for the NGC collector (appearing in the next lot), and this one for the PCGS collector. Bidders should be prepared for competition to acquire both specimens. Population: 62 in 67 (4 in 67+), 0 finer (3/20).(Registry values: N4719)
