Description

1893 Isabella Quarter, MS67+
Near the Condition Census

1893 25C Isabella Quarter MS67+ PCGS. CAC. This is a delightfully high-end example of the sought-after Isabella quarter -- the only issue of this denomination within the classic commemorative series. The Isabella quarters were struck in conjunction with the World's Columbian Exposition in 1893, and were initially sold to collectors and fair goers for a dollar apiece -- a cost-to-face-value ratio that was twice that of the Columbian half dollars. Only 24,214 pieces were distributed. This specific coin is just outside of the Condition Census and is a rarity in this grade with CAC endorsement. Delicate pastel toning in shades of rose-gold, sea-green, and lavender accent satiny, pristine luster on each side, and the strike is sharp throughout. Population: 65 in 67 (12 in 67+), 7 finer. CAC: 31 in 67, 3 finer (10/23).(Registry values: N4719)
