Description
Lustrous 1900 Lafayette Dollar, MS65
1900 $1 Lafayette Dollar MS65 PCGS. DuVall 2-C. The second S in STATES is repunched east. The obverse has conjoined busts of Washington and Lafayette, while the reverse depicts Lafayette on horseback. It is one of very few coinage issues to depict the same person on both sides. Housed in an older green-label holder, this wonderful Gem is fully brilliant with pristine surfaces beneath faint champagne toning. It is also sharply struck with excellent design definition on both sides. PCGS has only certified 85 finer examples of the Lafayette dollar (8/08).(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# BYKW, PCGS# 9222, GSID# 10321)
