Description

1915-S Panama-Pacific Half Dollar, MS66+
Splashes of Russet and Electric Blue

1915-S 50C Panama-Pacific MS66+ PCGS. Champagne surfaces are splashed with russet and electric-blue shades, along with some periwinkle on the right reverse. Satiny luster is typical for the issue, and the eagle's breast feathers are weak, as on all known pieces. This exposition, which celebrated the rebuilding of San Francisco after the 1906 earthquake and the opening of the Panama Canal in 1914, was meant to be the ultimate World's Fair, with a complex that resembled a small city. It was a roaring success, drawing 19 million visitors.(Registry values: N2998)
