Description

Vibrant Superb Gem 1915-S Panama-Pacific Half

1915-S 50C Panama-Pacific MS67 NGC. CAC. As Chief Engraver Charles Barber's life drew to a close, he worked with his eventual successor, George T. Morgan, on several patterns and other side-projects not linked to the mainstream of circulation coinage. The reverse design of the Panama-Pacific half dollar, which includes contributions from both men, was one of their last true collaborations.
This amazing representative is tied for numerically finest certified by NGC (8/08). It offers pleasingly detailed devices with whispers of frostiness at the high points, as well as subtle luster beneath light blue and orange peripheral toning on the obverse. The reverse shows broader coverage with violet, rose, and golden-tan shadings. A single minuscule mark on Columbia's wrist is the only appreciable barrier to an even finer designation.(Registry values: N2998)
