Description
Choice 1922 Grant With Star Half
1922 50C Grant with Star MS64 PCGS. Light golden-tan and red-russet toning confirms the originality of this semi-prooflike and sharply struck near-Gem. The 1922 Grant continued the pattern of the 1921 Missouri and Alabama. Those programs had a low mintage issue with a special symbol, as did the Grant. Only 4,256 pieces were struck with a star above the N in GRANT. Survivors are elusive compared to the No Star variety, of which 67,405 pieces were produced.(Registry values: N1793)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# BYPP, PCGS# 9307, GSID# 10313)
