Description

Frosted MS65 1923-S Monroe Half

1923-S 50C Monroe MS65 PCGS. The novel reverse design of the Monroe half was based on an 1899 medal by Ralph Beck and used in 1901 for the Pan-American Exposition seal. From a design perspective, this central reverse motif is the most distinctive aspect of these coins. This particular piece shows thick mint luster, and the gray-brilliant centers are surrounded by golden-brown toning. A clean and attractive Gem representative.(Registry values: N1793)
