Description
Lustrous MS65 1926 Sesquicentennial Half
1926 50C Sesquicentennial MS65 NGC. The conditional scarcity of the Sesquicentennial half dollar was slowly recognized by collectors and dealers. About 25 years ago, dealers raised their buy prices for "real Gem" coins, and found there were virtually none to be had. Prices rose and rose, then third-party grading came along, and soon published population figures confirmed the difficulty of this coin in Gem condition. The luster on this piece is exceptional and each side is covered with even golden-rose toning.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# BYJ4, PCGS# 9374, GSID# 10365)
