Colorful Hawaii Commemorative

1928 50C Hawaiian MS65 NGC. The 1928 half dollar was struck to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Captain James Cook landing on Hawaii. The frosty, silver surfaces of this well-struck Gem are faintly toned in light jade. The periphery is accented with hues of ocean-blue and lavender, with the reverse edges showing vibrant rings of plum and emerald. Marks are light and consistent with Gem pieces. This highly collectible commemorative becomes scarce in Premium Gem, and finer examples are conditionally rare.(Registry values: N2998)
