1935 50C Hudson MS64 NGC. This lustrous pearl-gray Choice commemorative half is minimally abraded and provides excellent value given its quality and scarcity. The caricature of Neptune riding backwards on a whale competes with an obscure allusion on the other side to the name of the ship, Half Moon, via the design showing a quarter-moon with a "bump for the nose of the Man in the Moon" (Bowers).(Registry values: N991)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# BYGS, PCGS# 9312, GSID# 10316)
