Description
Radiant MS66 1935 Hudson Half Dollar
1935 50C Hudson MS66 PCGS. CAC. The Hudson half dollar was widely criticized after its release. Despite its depiction of explorer Henry Hudson's ship the Half Moon on the obverse, the commemorative had nothing to do with the navigator; rather, it celebrated the 150th anniversary of the founding of Hudson, New York--a town of some 14,000 residents in the early 1930s. This piece offers splendid silver-white surfaces that are essentially untouched by any mentionable distraction, with radiant luster and just the barest hint of golden patina. Certified in a green-label holder. PCGS has graded only six pieces finer (8/08).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# BYGS, PCGS# 9312, GSID# 10316)
