Immaculate and Beautifully Toned Spanish Trail Half

1935 50C Spanish Trail MS68 NGC. This satiny Superb Gem is gorgeously preserved and has a bold strike. Each side displays a coating of medium gray-blue patina with a little darker color about the borders, and there are no blemishes or distractions to be seen. Future ANA President L.W. Hoffecker designed the Spanish Trail, and also assisted in its distribution. The Old Spanish Trail is the path taken by explorer Cabeza de Vaca. His disastrous expedition began in 1528, and ended in 1536 with only four survivors from the initial party of some 200 men. Census: 5 in 68, 0 finer (8/07).(Registry values: N4719)
